Built as part of the Instructional Design institute and in collaboration with a SME, I was responsible for every part of this course from analysis to evaluation. It was designed as part of the Leadership Academy, a non-credit training series available through the local community college.
This course created as part of Instructional Design Institute with Dr. Luke Hobson. It is designed to be a 1 hr training aid for new managers and was part of the Leadership institute program through the College of Southern Idaho’s workforce training curriculum. The course was built in coordination with a faculty subject matter expert.
1. Establish scope of class through workforce representative. Analyze needs and possible solutions
2. Identify and meet with SME to discuss goals and create rough learning objectives (Backward design)
3. Use learning objectives to map the course in Excel and begin course design.
4. Develop learning activities, assessment and practice questions including custom GPT trained on course material to stand in for role-play partner
5. Organize content
6. Build course in Brightspace keeping accessability standards in mind.
7. Gain feedback from SME, fellow instructional designers and IDI instructor
8. Review for WCAG and section 508 standards
9. Adjust according to feedback
10. Publish (Implement)
